Everything You Need to Know
The Prints
What are the prints made from? Every print is produced by my printer on archival matte paper using giclée printing — the gold standard for art reproduction. The colour is rich, the detail is precise and the prints are built to last properly. Not the sort of thing that fades politely into the background after two years.
Are they signed? Open edition prints are digitally signed. Limited edition prints are signed and numbered — you'll find the edition number in the bottom left corner and my signature bottom right.
What sizes are available? Prints are available in A4, A3 and A2. If you're not sure which size works for your space, a useful trick is to cut a piece of paper or newspaper to the dimensions and hold it against the wall. Surprisingly helpful and completely free.
What's the difference between open edition and limited edition prints? Open edition prints are always available and printed to order. Limited edition prints are produced in a fixed number — once that edition sells out it closes permanently and will not be reprinted. Each limited edition print is numbered and signed.
Will you be making more of a sold-out limited edition? No. A closed edition stays closed — that's the whole point and a promise I take seriously. If a particular image sold out and you'd like to know when new work in that collection becomes available, you can join the waitlist on the collection page.
Ordering and Payment
How do I order? Through the shop. Straightforward checkout, secure payment. If you have a question before ordering just drop me an email — I read everything and write back.
What payment methods do you accept? All major credit and debit cards, PayPal and Apple Pay through the website checkout. I offer Klarna for easy spread payments.
I have a discount code — where do I enter it? At checkout. There's a discount code field before you complete your order.
Can I order a print as a gift? Absolutely and it makes a genuinely lovely one. Add a gift message at checkout and it will be included with the order. If you'd like it sent directly to the recipient just enter their address as the delivery address.
Can I order a framed print? No currently. All my prints fit standard frames available from most good framing shops or online.
Shipping and Delivery
How long will my order take? Most orders are dispatched within a few days. Please allow up to four weeks in busy periods — though in practice it's usually much faster. You'll receive tracking information the moment your order leaves the printer.
How is it packaged? A4 and A3 prints are sent flat in a protective envelope — sturdy, no rolling, arrives in perfect condition. A2 and larger prints are rolled and sent in a tube. Everything is packaged to survive the postal system, which frankly takes some doing.
UK shipping £3.50 — 2 to 11 business days
European shipping £4.50 — 2 to 15 business days
International shipping £6.50 — 2 to 30 business days
Do you ship everywhere? Yes — if you can receive post, I can send a print there. Get in touch if you can't find your shipping zone.
What about customs duties and taxes for international orders? The customer is responsible for any customs duties, import taxes or local charges that apply in their country. These vary considerably depending on where you are and I'm unable to predict or prepay them on your behalf. A useful tool for estimating costs is the Simple Duty calculator at simplyduty.com — enter the approximate value of your order and your country for an estimate. I'd recommend doing this before ordering if you're outside the UK so there are no surprises at your end.
Will I get tracking information? Yes — you'll receive tracking details by email as soon as your order is dispatched.
What if I'm not home when it arrives? Standard postal rules apply depending on your country and carrier. For larger tube shipments that need a signature, you'll usually get a card with redelivery options if you miss the first attempt.
The Colour Club
What is the Colour Club? A monthly subscription — £12 per month UK, £14 international, shipping included. Every month a signed exclusive print and a handwritten letter from my studio arrives at your door. The print is painted specifically for Colour Club members and won't appear anywhere else.
When does it dispatch? By the 21st of each month. Join before the 16th to receive that month's print. Join after the 16th and your first parcel will be the following month's.
Can I give a Colour Club subscription as a gift? Yes — and it makes a wonderful one. Select the gifted subscription option at checkout, add your message and enter the recipient's details. They'll receive a welcome note explaining what's coming and their first parcel the following dispatch date.
Can I cancel? Anytime, no awkward forms, no guilt. Just drop me an email and it's done.
I've just joined — what happens next? You'll receive a welcome email with everything you need to know. Your first parcel will arrive around the 21st of this month if you joined before the 16th, or next month if you joined after. In the meantime — welcome. I'm genuinely glad you're here.
Originals
What medium are your originals? Oil on canvas or oil on board depending on the size and painting. Details are listed on each individual product page.
Do you do commissions? I used to take them. I don't anymore and it's not personal.
Art isn't a programme you can tweak until it spits out exactly what you imagined. It's a process and it needs room to breathe. Too often, people don't realise what they're actually asking for until they see it — and then the gentle "could we just…" becomes a slow, well-intentioned erosion of everything that made the painting worth making in the first place.
There's also the small matter of Parkinson's, which has made stress considerably less welcome than it used to be.
So I stopped. What I make now comes entirely from my own obsessions. If something in the shop speaks to you — wonderful. If nothing does yet, come back. There's always something new.
No awkward conversations. No "almost but not quite." Just paintings, looking for the right walls.
Do originals come with a certificate of authenticity? Yes. Every original comes with a signed certificate confirming the title, medium, size and date of completion.
How are originals shipped? Small originals on board are sent flat in protective packaging. Larger canvas works are rolled and sent in a tube or crated depending on size. I'll always contact you before dispatching a larger original to confirm the shipping method and cost.
Can I return an original? Originals are non-returnable unless damaged in transit. Please see the returns section below.
Returns and Problems
What if my print arrives damaged? It's rare but it happens — postal systems being what they are. If your print arrives damaged please email me within 48 hours with photographs of the damage and packaging. I'll arrange a replacement. I'll need the images to make a claim with the shipping provider so please do keep the packaging too.
What if I'm not happy with my print? Prints are made to order so I can't accept returns on the basis of a change of mind. However if something is genuinely wrong with the print itself — a defect in the printing, wrong image, wrong size — I will always make it right. Just get in touch.
How do I contact you? Email or the contact form below: emma@emmastubbs.uk. I read everything and reply personally. No chatbots, no customer service department, just me.
A Few Last Things
Do you sell at fairs or markets? Not currently — everything is through the website. I'll announce any in-person events on Instagram and in the newsletter if that changes.
Can I stock your prints in my shop? Wholesale and trade enquiries are welcome. Drop me an email and we can have a conversation.
I'm an interior designer — do you work with trade clients? Not currently but I do make exceptions. Email me directly and we can talk.
How do I stay up to date with new work? Join the email list — new work goes to subscribers before it goes anywhere else. The sign-up is at the bottom of every page on the website. There's a welcome discount waiting for you when you join.
Still questions? Just email me. I'm a real person and I actually reply.
